Before you start
- The Make-up Right is part of the package definition; only users with the Owner or Admin role can set it.
- Trial packages have no make-up right, so the setting does not appear on the form.
The Make-up Right options
- No Make-up Credit: the member can neither cancel a class nor move it to another session. New packages start with this.
- Reschedulable: the member can only move a class to another session; they cannot cancel it into the make-up pool.
- Poolable and Reschedulable: the member can cancel a class and keep the credit in the make-up pool, or move it straight to another session.
Set the make-up right
On Business › Packages, press the package card.
The Edit Package window opens. For a new package, use Add Package.
Under Make-up, Freeze and Seat Hold Period, pick one of the Make-up Right options.
Any option other than No Make-up Credit opens four more fields.
For Cancellation and Rescheduling Frequency, choose Weekly or Per Package.
Under Cancellation and Rescheduling Cap, enter how many changes are allowed in that period.
Under Cancellation and Rescheduling Cutoff, enter how many hours before a class the member can still change it.
Under Rescheduling Window, enter how many days ahead, counted from the moment of the cancellation or move, a session can be picked.
Press Save.
A "Package updated" message appears.
What the fields mean
- Cancellation and Rescheduling Frequency and Cancellation and Rescheduling Cap are read together. Weekly with 2 lets the member make at most 2 changes a week; the week starts on Monday and is counted by the date of the class. Per Package makes the cap cover the whole package.
- Cancellations and reschedules share the same cap: canceling a class and moving one to another session each count as one change.
- A Cancellation and Rescheduling Cutoff of 0 lets the member make changes right up to the start of the class.
- The Rescheduling Window sets two things: how many days ahead of the moment the member acts a class can be moved to, and how long a credit canceled into the make-up pool stays usable. It counts from that moment, not from the class date, and never runs past the package end date.
What the member sees
The member cancels or moves a class from the Profile or the Classes page (Cancel a class). When the package's rules do not allow it, the reason is shown in place of the option:
- The cancellation window has passed: the Cancellation and Rescheduling Cutoff has passed.
- When the Cancellation and Rescheduling Cap has been reached, the option still looks open; when the member presses it, the action is refused with Allowance used up.
- This package only allows rescheduling: the package is Reschedulable.
- This package has no make-up credits: the package has No Make-up Credit.
If you need to go past a rule
Staff canceling or moving a class on behalf of a member are held to the same rules (Cancel or reschedule a class for a member). An Owner or Admin can still go ahead with an action a rule blocks by giving a reason; see Override a booking rule.
