What is a cookie, and why is it used?
A cookie is a small text file the site you visit leaves in your browser. Browser local storage (localStorage) and session storage do a similar job: they keep your preferences on your own device. This text explains which records Dakik keeps on the marketing site (dakik.studio), in the application (app.dakik.studio) and in the demo (demo.dakik.studio), and what it keeps them for.
- Essential: the records the site and the application need in order to work. They keep your session open and remember your preferences; they need no consent and cannot be turned off.
- Analytics: the records that measure how the pages are used, as anonymous statistics. They are loaded only once you consent.
- Marketing: the records that hold which campaign link, or which studio's referral link, brought you here. They are not shared with a third party and are not used for advertising.
Which cookies does dakik.studio use?
The marketing site uses only the cookies and browser storage records below. The essential records are needed for the site to work and need no consent; the analytics cookies are loaded only once 'Accept' is chosen on the cookie bar.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| dakik_theme | Essential | Your light/dark theme choice (browser local storage) | Until you change it |
| dakik_cookie_consent | Essential | The record and the date of your cookie consent (browser local storage) | 12 months |
| dakik_utm | Marketing | The source a campaign link brought you from (utm parameters); added to the signup link of the application alone and never shared with a third party. A cookie, also kept under the same name in session storage while the tab is open | 30 days |
| dakik_ref | Marketing | The code of a studio's referral link, if that is how you arrived; shared with our subdomains so the studio signup in the application can read it, used for that signup alone and never shared with a third party. A cookie, also kept under the same name in session storage while the tab is open | 60 days |
| _ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics visitor distinction and session measurement; loaded only once consent is given and deleted when consent is withdrawn. On a studio sign-up or a demo start our server reads only the visitor identifier from it | 2 years |
Which records does the application keep?
There is no analytics or marketing cookie in the application (app.dakik.studio) or in the demo (demo.dakik.studio). The records they keep fall into five groups: sign-in and session records, your preferences, interface state, the recently opened records of Search and the cache of the application files. None of them is used to track you or for advertising, and none is shared with third parties, so they need no consent. A * at the end of a name means the record is kept separately for each account.
| Name | Kind | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| dakik_refresh_token | Cookie (httpOnly) | Sign-in and session: keeping your session open. JavaScript cannot read it, and it is sent only to the session refresh and sign-out addresses | 30 days if "Remember me" is checked, otherwise until the browser closes |
| dakik_demo_refresh_token | Cookie (httpOnly) | Sign-in and session: keeping your session in your demo studio on demo.dakik.studio open, apart from your session in the application. JavaScript cannot read it, and it is sent only to the session refresh and sign-out addresses | 30 days; it stops working once the demo studio is deleted |
| dakik_social_pending | Session storage | Sign-in and session: the return step of the sign-in-with-Google flow | Until the sign-in completes |
| dakik_pending_email_change:* | Local storage | Sign-in and session: while you change your email address, the new address awaiting confirmation and how long its confirmation link is valid | Until the change is confirmed or canceled; ignored once the link has expired |
| dakik_theme, dakik_locale, dakik_notification_sound | Local storage | Preferences: your theme, language and notification sound choices; the theme and the language are saved to your account as well, so they apply on another device too | Until you change them |
| dakik_theme_pending, dakik_locale_pending | Local storage | Preferences: a theme or language picked before signing in, written to your account at the next sign-in | Until the next sign-in |
| dakik_calendar_view, dakik_calendar_scope:*, dakik_agenda_pin_today, dakik_member_calendar_view, dakik_lessons_view, dakik_sidebar_collapsed, dakik_sidebar_groups | Local storage | Interface state: the view you last chose in the calendar and the class lists, whether the list view pins today to the top, and whether the sidebar and its menu groups are folded, so the application opens the same way again | Until you change it |
| dakik_calendar_filters | Session storage | Interface state: the calendar filters and the week shown, so a page reload does not lose them | Until the tab closes |
| dakik_boot_hint | Local storage | Interface state: the identifier and role of the last account signed in, whether it teaches and whether it is in a demo studio, so the application draws the right layout as it opens. No session key is kept | Until you sign out |
| dakik_notice_dismissed:*, dakik_push_prompt_seen:*, dakik_setup_guide_auto_opened:*, dakik_install_hint_dismissed_at | Local storage | Interface state: the notices you closed, the notification permission card you answered, the first opening of the setup guide and the offer to install the application, kept with their dates so they are not shown again on this device | Until you clear your browser data |
| dakik:global-search:recent:* | Local storage | Recent searches: the Recently Opened list of Search, that is, the name, phone number (and, for staff, the job title) and page address of the member and staff records you last opened with this account. It is kept on this device alone and never sent to the server | Until you press Clear under Recently Opened or clear your browser data |
| workbox-precache-*, dakik-route-chunks | Cache (service worker) | Application files: the code files, typefaces, icons and offline page of the application shell, and the code files of the pages you opened, so the application opens quickly and shows the offline page when there is no connection. No personal data and no server response is kept. On app.dakik.studio alone | The opened pages' files for 30 days at most; the shell until a new version is released |
Are there third-party cookies?
The only third-party cookie belongs to Google Analytics, and it is loaded on the marketing site alone, and only if you consented. When you withdraw your consent, the cookies beginning with _ga are deleted from your browser and the measurement stops at once. On the sign-up, sign-in, password reset, trial class, demo start and contact forms, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot check: it reads browser and device signals to confirm the sender is not a bot, writes no cookie on our domains and is required for those forms to work. No advertising network, social media tracker or pixel is used, and cookie data is not sold.

How do you change your cookie choice?
On the cookie bar that appears on your first visit you choose 'Accept' or 'Essential Only'. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which you are asked again, and it can be changed at any time in the section below.
You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings; the record of your choice goes with them, so the cookie bar appears again. If you block the essential records, the site and the application may not work as expected.
