Why this order?
Records in Dakik depend on each other: a class is tied to rooms, an instructor to classes, a package to classes, and a session to a class, a room and an instructor. Setting up from the ground up means every form already has what you are looking for.
1. Your account and studio details
- Open your account: Create your Dakik account.
- In the setup wizard, enter the studio name, contact details, working hours and privacy notice: Studio setup wizard.
- Think through the roles your team and your members will hold: Roles and permissions.
2. Rooms, classes, staff and packages
- Business › Rooms: add the rooms your classes run in, with their capacity.
- Business › Classes: add the classes you teach and choose the rooms each one can run in.
- Business › Staff: add your instructors and tick the classes they can teach under Specialties. If you teach too, open an instructor record for yourself.
- Business › Packages: define the packages you sell to members and their rules: Create a package.
3. Payment channels
On the Finance › Payment Channels page, add at least one payment method and one account. Taking member payments and recording income need both.
4. The calendar
Build your weekly timetable on the Calendar page. Add the classes that run at the same time every week as a repeating series rather than one by one: Add a session.
5. Members and package sales
- Add your members: Add and invite a member. If you already keep a list, see Move your members to Dakik.
- Give members their packages and take their payments: Sell a package to a member.
- Add members to sessions: Add members to a session.
6. Notifications and devices
- On the Settings › Notifications page, review the texts of the messages members receive and when the reminders go out.
- Add Dakik to your phone’s home screen and turn on push notifications: Add the app to your home screen.
During the week
- Take attendance after each class: Take attendance.
- Keep an eye on the waitlist of full sessions: Manage the waitlist.
- View and filter the calendar the way you need it: Calendar views and filters.
