What is the Setup Guide?
The Setup Guide is the ring at the bottom right that shows how many setup steps are done. Press the ring and the list of steps opens. The guide follows you to every page.
- Users with the Owner or Admin role see the guide; users with the Staff role do not.
- Only the Owner sees the Define Your Studio step, because only the Owner can change the studio details. An Admin’s list has one step fewer.
- The first time the guide appears on a device, its list opens on its own.
- If you have more than one branch, each branch has a guide of its own. When you switch branches you see that branch’s steps; a branch that is already set up shows no guide.
Complete a step
Press the guide’s ring at the bottom right.
The steps are listed in two groups; the one to do next is marked Next.
Press the step you want to do.
Its page opens with the add form already open, and the guide folds away.
Fill in the form and save it.
The step’s icon turns into a tick and the ring moves on.
The Set Up Your Studio steps
- Define Your Studio: done once the studio name is no longer the default and the phone and address are filled in. See Studio setup wizard.
- Add a Room: at least one active room. Sessions are planned in a room, and the room sets the capacity.
- Add a Class: at least one active class. You choose the rooms a class can run in on the class form.
- Define a Package: at least one active package to sell to members. It needs a class first. See Create a package.
- Add Staff: at least one active staff record. If you teach the classes yourself, add yourself as an instructor too.
The Get Ready to Open steps
- Plan the First Session: done once the first session is on the calendar. It needs a class, a room and a staff member first. See Add a session.
- Add a Payment Channel: needs at least one active payment method and one active account. The row says how many of the two exist; pressing it opens the form for the missing one.
- Add the First Member: done once the first member is added. See Add and invite a member and Sell a package to a member.
Minimize or close the guide
- Minimize: folds the list back into the ring. On a wide screen the Esc key does the same. While the list is open it takes the ring’s place; once folded, the ring stays at the bottom right.
- Close Guide: hides the guide completely. Pressing the cross on the ring’s corner or in the list’s header asks you to confirm first.
Closing the guide deletes nothing. A closed guide is hidden for you alone and stays closed on all your devices; the studio’s other Owner and Admin users still see it.
Bring back a closed guide
Press your profile icon. It is on the right of the top bar, next to the notification bell.
The account menu opens.
Choose Setup Guide from the menu.
The guide comes back with its list of steps open.
When every step is done
When you complete the last step, the guide opens with a Your studio is ready! message. Once you close it with Close Guide, it does not come back.
