Before you start
Dakik is a web app; there is nothing to download from an app store. Once you add the Dakik you open in your browser to your home screen, it opens like an app with its own icon and can receive push notifications.
Add it on an Android phone or a computer
If your browser can install apps, a card offering to add Dakik to your home screen appears at the top of the page once you sign in.
Press Add on the card.
Your browser’s own install window opens.
Confirm the install in the browser’s window.
Dakik is added to your home screen or your apps, and the card goes away.
Add it on an iPhone or iPad
On an iPhone or iPad you add it from Safari. When you open Dakik in Safari, the card at the top of the page shows you how.
Open Dakik in Safari.
Tap the Share icon: at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone, at the top on an iPad.
The share menu opens.
Choose "Add to Home Screen" from the menu and confirm.
The Dakik icon is added to your home screen.
From now on, open Dakik from its icon on the home screen.
Turn on push notifications
The first time you sign in on a device that supports them, a Turn on push notifications card appears at the top of the page. It is shown once per account on each device.
Press Allow on the card.
Your browser asks for permission to notify.
Allow it in the browser’s prompt.
A "Push notifications are on" message appears.
If you passed the card with Not Now, you can turn them on later:
Open Settings from your profile menu and go to the Preferences page.
The Push Notifications card is there.
Turn on Push notifications and allow it in the browser’s prompt.
The switch shows Allowed.
If notifications do not arrive
- Blocked: the browser blocked notifications for this site. Allow them in the site settings in the address bar, then press Register This Device Again.
- The app is not installed on this device: permission was given but the device’s registration is missing. Press Register This Device Again; if the status stays, close Dakik and open it again (in a browser, refreshing the page is enough) and press the button once more.
- This browser does not support them: this browser cannot receive push notifications. Try another browser, or on an iPhone add Dakik to the home screen.
Move to a new version
Every time you open Dakik, its latest version loads. If a new version comes out while Dakik is open, a card titled A new version is ready appears at the top of the page. Dakik never reloads on its own, so a form you are halfway through is not lost.
Save any unsaved changes first.
Press Reload on the card.
Dakik opens again on the new version and the card goes away.
If there is no internet connection
Dakik works over the internet; your studio’s data is not kept on the device. If you open or refresh Dakik without a connection, a "No internet connection" page appears. It reloads by itself once the connection is back; if it does not, press "Try Again" on that page.
