What a standing seat is
A member added as a Standing member of the series has a seat in every upcoming session of the series (Add members to a session). While a package of theirs covers the series' class, the seat shows Active.
When no package covers it any more (the package ended or its credits ran out), the seat is not freed at once. It is held for the package's Seat Hold Period, set on the package itself (Seat hold period). Meanwhile the member's spots in upcoming sessions wait as Awaiting Package; if the member renews, they turn into reservations.
Once the last day has passed, the seat is released: the spots in upcoming sessions are removed, the freed spots are offered to the waitlist, and the member stays Paused in the series.
- Active
- A package of the member covers the series; nothing is held.
- Held · last day
- No package covers the series; the seat is held until the end of the day shown.
- Released today
- The hold ran out; the seat is about to be released.
- Paused
- The seat was released and the member has no package for the series.
- Paused · has a package
- The seat was released, but the member now has a package that covers the series.
Where you see standing seats
- Owners and Admins see members whose package ended and whose seat is being held in the Standing Members Awaiting Renewal card on the Overview page.
- On each member's page, the Standing Seats section on the Classes card lists all of that member's standing seats with their state. When a seat is released today, held or ready to be resumed, the Needs Attention card on the Details tab carries a line too, and its Go to the Seat button takes you to that section.
- The member sees their standing seats on the Classes page of their own menu, and until when a seat is held.
The actions the state allows are in the "⋯" menu of each row on the card, and next to the seat on the member's page: Assign a Package, Hold the Seat, Bring Back to Series and Remove from Series.
Renew the member's package
The main way to keep the seat is a new package for the member. Assign one while the seat is held and the seat turns Active again; the Awaiting Package spots are paid from the new package.
Choose Assign a Package in the row's "⋯" menu, or Assign a Package on the member's page.
The Assign a Package window opens with the member selected.
Assign the package as described in Sell a package to a member.
Hold the seat longer
Choose Hold the Seat in the held seat's menu, or on the member's page.
The Hold the Seat window shows the seat's current last day.
Pick a date under New Last Day, or press one of +7, +14 or +30 days.
Press Hold the Seat.
A message confirms the seat is held until the new last day.
- Hold the Seat is only available while the seat is held, that is while its state is "Held · last day" or Released today.
- The new last day has to come after the current one and at most 90 days from today.
- The extension is an exception to the package rule, so it is written to the audit log.
Bring a member back to the series
Choose Bring Back to Series in the paused seat's menu, or on the member's page.
The Bring Back to Series confirmation opens.
Press Bring Back to Series.
The message "Member brought back to the series" appears.
The member is booked again into every upcoming session of the series that has a free seat; full sessions are skipped.
Remove a member from the series
Choose Remove from Series in the seat's menu, or on the member's page.
The Remove from Series confirmation opens.
Press Remove from Series.
The message "Member removed from the series" appears with the number of upcoming seats removed.
The member's seats in upcoming sessions are removed, and the classes that have not happened go back to their package as credits. The freed seats are offered to the waitlist. One-off bookings the member holds in the same series are not touched.
