How availability works
Dakik does not ask for an instructor’s working hours: an instructor counts as available whenever you have not blocked them. You add the times they do not work as blocking rules. There are two kinds:
- Date range: across certain days, optionally within a range of hours. Leave or sick days, for example.
- Certain days and hours of the week: a blocking rule that comes back every week. An instructor who never works Tuesday mornings, for example.
Add a blocking rule
On the instructor’s Staff Details page, press Edit Availability on the Availability card.
The Edit Availability window opens and lists the saved blocking rules.
Press Add Blocking Rule.
An empty blocking form opens.
Choose the Blocking kind.
For a date range, pick the start and end dates; for a weekly rule, pick the days under Days.
To block certain hours only, turn off All day and enter the Start time and the End time.
If you like, add a Note.
Press Save the Blocking Rule.
The message "Blocking rule added" appears and the rule joins the list.
If the rule clashes with planned sessions
While you fill in the form, it shows how many planned sessions the rule clashes with. When you save, the Blocking conflict window lists those sessions with their date, time, class and occupancy.
How blocking rules affect the calendar
When you add a session with this instructor in a blocked window, or move one into it, the form shows an Instructor blocked warning, and Save does not work while it is on screen. See Conflict warnings when adding a session.
- To change or remove a rule, open the menu of its row in the list and choose Edit or Remove. Sessions a removed rule canceled earlier stay canceled.
- Instructors see their own blocking rules in the Availability section of their Profile page but cannot change them. For a change they ask the studio’s Owner or an Admin.
