Two permission levels
A staff record’s Permission Level is one of two values:
- Admin: sees studio management, finance and the settings. Opens the Overview page and the pages of the Business and Finance groups; adds staff, sets up compensation and records instructor payouts.
- Staff: runs the day to day. Uses the Calendar, Profile and Members pages, and sees their compensation on their Profile page; adds sessions, sells packages, takes attendance and takes member payments.
The record of the person who opened the studio reads Owner. That level cannot be given to anyone else, and the Owner’s permission level, leave date and status cannot be changed.
Who gives the Admin level
- Only the Owner can give or take the Admin level. Only the Owner is offered Admin in the Permission Level list.
- An Admin can give a new staff member the Staff level only.
- An Admin can edit another Admin’s record but not their level; the field shows locked. They cannot change their own level either.
Change the permission level
On the Business › Staff page, press the staff member’s card.
The Staff Details page opens.
Press Edit.
The Edit Staff Member window opens.
Choose the new level under Permission Level.
Press Save.
The message "The staff details are updated" appears.
The Role Permissions window
The info button beside Permission Level (Show role permissions) opens the Role Permissions window. Each permission is a row and each role a column: Owner, Admin, Staff and Member.
Picking the column of a role you are allowed to choose moves that level into the form and keeps the window open, so you can read at once what the new choice covers. The full table and what each role is for: Roles and permissions.
