Before you start
Press Settings in your profile menu at the top right and go to the Preferences page. Every setting in this article is on that page. On a phone the window opens on a list of pages; tap the Preferences row.
Turn on push notifications on this device
On the Push Notifications card, switch on Push notifications.
Your browser asks for permission to show notifications.
Allow it.
A "Push notifications are on" message appears, and the switch reads Allowed.
To hear a sound for important notifications too, switch on Notification sound. Play a Test Sound plays it.
- Turn the switch on separately on each device, your phone and your computer alike. Turning it off on one device, though, stops notifications on all your devices.
- If the status reads Blocked, the browser has blocked notifications for this site. Allow them in the site settings in the address bar, then press Register This Device Again.
- If the status reads The app is not installed on this device, add the app to your home screen first: Add the app to your home screen.
- Notification sound plays only while the app is open in a tab.
Choose your WhatsApp messages
If your studio sends automatic WhatsApp messages, a WhatsApp Preferences card appears on the Preferences page. If your studio does not use WhatsApp, the card is not shown.
To get no automatic WhatsApp messages at all, switch off WhatsApp messages.
To stop only some of them, leave the main switch on and switch off the types you do not want under Messages you get.
Each change is saved at once, and a "Your WhatsApp preference was saved" message appears.
Language and theme
Language on the Appearance card sets the language of the screens, notifications and emails. Theme picks a light or dark look; System follows your device. Both are saved to your account and apply on every device.
What you cannot choose
- Push and in-app notifications have no per-type choice; push is either on for all of them or off, for your whole account.
- Between 22:00 and 08:00, push and WhatsApp messages are held until the morning. Urgent ones, such as a waitlist offer or the cancellation of an early morning class, come through at once.
- Your studio decides which messages go out on which channel. If you never get a message, talk to your studio.
