Before you start
A class is the template of the sessions you put on the calendar: "Reformer Pilates, 50 minutes, Group", for example. You need at least one class before you can add a session. Owners and Admins manage classes on the Business › Classes page.
Add a class
On the Business › Classes page, press Add Class.
The Add Class window opens.
Type the Class Name and enter the length of the class in minutes under Duration.
If you like, add a short Description of the class.
Choose the Class Type and the Level.
Under Rooms, choose the rooms the class can be held in.
Choose a Calendar Color.
Press Save.
The message "Class added" appears and the class shows in the list as a card.
- Class Type
- Private, Duo or Group. When you pick this class for a session, the capacity becomes 1 for Private and 2 for Duo; a Group class takes the capacity of the room. Partner cards also work by class type.
- Duration
- Between 5 and 480 minutes. It is the default length when you add a session, and can be changed per session.
- Level
- All Levels, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. It becomes the session's level when you add a session.
- Rooms
- On the calendar this class can only be opened in the selected rooms. The same pairing shows under Class Types in the room's form.
- Calendar Color
- The calendar draws this class's sessions in this color. Changing it recolors the existing sessions as well.
- Note
- An internal note only staff can see.
Edit or copy a class
Open the "⋯" menu on the class card.
The options Edit, Copy, Deactivate and Delete appear.
Choose Edit to change the class, or Copy to create a similar one.
Copy opens the form filled in from the original class, with "(Copy)" after its name and a free color.
Change what you need and press Save.
Deactivate or delete a class
You can retire a class you no longer teach from its card menu, or from the bottom of the Edit Class window:
- Deactivate: the class drops out of the pickers and past records are kept. Sessions already on the calendar are not canceled. You can bring the class back any time with Activate.
- Delete: the class is deleted for good. Only a class that no record uses can be deleted.
If the class is used by a session, a series, a room, a package, a member, or a staff member's specialties or compensation definitions, choosing Delete opens "This class is in use and cannot be deleted". The window counts the records using it (Sessions and series, Rooms, Packages, Members, Staff) and offers to deactivate the class instead.
The trial class page
The Trial Class Page card sits at the top of the Classes page. It is where you open and close the link people who do not know your studio yet use to book a trial class. See Open the trial class page.
