Before you start
- Only the Owner can connect, test and disconnect the number. Users with the Admin role do not see the WhatsApp Connection card; the templates, the reminder timing and, where your studio has it, the WhatsApp Assistant are open to them too.
- WhatsApp has to be installed and open on the phone you are linking.
- Dakik compares the linked number with the phone number in your studio details, so check that the studio's phone is right first: Studio details and working hours.
Link the number
Open Settings from your profile menu at the top right and go to the Notifications page.
The WhatsApp Connection card is the first card on the page.
Press Connect WhatsApp at the bottom of the card.
A QR code appears, with how many seconds it is still valid.
On the phone you are linking, open WhatsApp and go to WhatsApp's Settings › Linked devices › Link a device.
Point the phone's camera at the code on the screen.
The window closes by itself, the message "WhatsApp is connected" appears and the card shows Connected with the Connected number.
The state of the connection
The tag at the top right of the card shows how the connection stands:
- Not Configured
- No number is linked yet. Members only receive in-app and push notifications.
- Connected
- Messages go out from the studio's number.
- Disconnected
- The WhatsApp session is closed, for example because Dakik was removed from the phone's linked devices. Scan the code again.
- Error
- The WhatsApp server cannot be reached. If it persists, disconnect and link the number again.
While the connection is not Connected, the top of the page says so too and the WhatsApp switches of the templates stay off. If the linked number differs from the studio's phone, the card shows The connected number differs from the studio's phone; messages still go out from the linked number.
Test the connection
On the WhatsApp Connection card, press Test the Connection.
The card shows The connection test passed, or The connection test failed with the reason, and the Last checked time updates.
Disconnect the number
Press Disconnect at the bottom left of the WhatsApp Connection card.
The Disconnect WhatsApp? confirmation opens.
In the confirmation, press Disconnect.
The message "WhatsApp was disconnected" appears and the card goes back to Not Configured.
