The summary is cash basis
The Finance › Summary page shows the money that moved in the selected period. It is open to the Owner and Admin roles only. Change the period with the Month / Year choice at the top of the page.
The report is cash basis: an income or an expense lands in the month its Payment Date falls in, not the month the work was done. A package sold in September and paid for in October, for example, shows in October's income.
The three cards at the top
- Total Income: the active income records of the period added up. Under the card the amount is split into Member Payment, Other and Partner Payout.
- Total Expenses: the active expense records of the period added up, staff compensation payments included.
- Net Profit or Loss: total income minus total expenses. A loss shows in red with a minus sign.
What counts and what does not
| Amount | In the summary? |
|---|---|
| Payments taken from members, other income and partner payouts | Yes, in the period of the payment date. |
| Expenses and staff compensation payments | Yes, in the period of the payment date. |
| Canceled income and expense records | No. |
| The price of a package | No. Only the payments actually taken for it count. |
| Unpaid installments | No. They become income on the day they are collected; the Receivables Summary card shows them separately. |
| What partner cards are expected to pay | No. It becomes income when the payout is recorded on the Partner Earnings page. |
| Compensation staff have earned but not been paid | No. It becomes an expense on the day it is paid; the Receivables Summary card shows it separately. |
Expense Breakdown
The Expense Breakdown card splits the period's expenses by expense type; staff compensation payments are a line of their own. Each line shows its share of the total.
Receivables Summary
The Receivables Summary card looks at today, not the selected period, and shows the members' open installments: Past Due (overdue) and Upcoming Payments. The Open Receivables button opens the installment list: Debts and installments.
The Outside the cash summary box at the bottom of the card gives two more amounts:
- Total Member Receivable: every installment members have not paid yet.
- Unpaid Staff Compensation (Payable): compensation staff have earned but not been paid yet.
Yearly Profit and Loss
Yearly Profit and Loss shows the year of the selected period as a chart and a table: Income, Expenses and Net for each month, and the year's Total row at the bottom.
